01.08.1945
The photogravure 01.08.1945 is produced from a postcard depicting a small-scale replica of the statue of liberty atop of the Buddhist temple Tháp Rùa on the lake of Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi. The statue was reportedly placed on top of the temple some time after 1887 during French colonial occupation and then re-located to multiple sites around Hanoi before it was destroyed on 1 August 1945 after being deemed a vestige of the French colonial government.
