Takehito Koganezawa takes us into absurd worlds, perhaps informed by his installations and performances.
Koganezawa captures time, place, movement and transformation on paper, and while we recognize individual elements in his compositions, he takes us into unknown, surreal scenarios that challenge us to seek meaning.
While much of his work is visibly based in Japanese culture and nature, Koganezawa is able to create universal visual narratives that transgress specific cultural contexts.
Takehito Koganezawa, born 1974 in Tokyo, Japan, lives and works in Hiroshima, Japan. He has been collaborating with BORCH Editions since 2005.
