Untitled

The abstract, untitled diptych that Takehito Koganezawa created for BORCH Editions in 2005 showcases his masterful handling of the etching needle and brush, which is informed by his watercolor and drawing practice.
The amorphous figures, executed with spit bite aquatint, seem to come from a fairy-tale underwater world, and the accumulations of small, delicate strokes resemble aquatic plants or algae that grow and spread. Without any figurative references, Koganezawa succeeds in creates dense pictorial worlds characterized by a remarkable compositional harmony
