Blind Pan
Tacita Dean’s photogravure series Blind Pan is a near-black silhouette of what appears to be high, wind-blasted moorland. The words ‘The Road to Colonnus’ are spread sequentially over the five prints that comprise the series. Scrawled in chalk across the barren landscape are the stage directions for Oedipus’ and Antigone’s journey through the wilderness, thereby creating a print series that resembles a storyboard for an unmade film.
