Stadens Utkant (Outskirt of City)
Jockum Nordström created five monoprints which mark his return to oil paint after four decades. Monoprints are unique prints made from a printing plate to which individual marks are added before printing. Nordström integrated the residue ink from one print into the next, resulting in what printmakers refer to as a ‘ghost’ print. By applying this technique, Nordström related the five unique monoprints to each other, with the etched lines being consistent while their colouration is individual.
