Tal R | Blomster uden titel

Each of the five prints in the suite Blomster uden titel (Untitled Flowers), 2021 depicts a bouquet of flowers picked by Tal R from around his home in the Danish countryside.

The still life of the wilting cut flowers presented within a tilted interior space become a reminder of the impermanence of life. As Tal R remarks, ‘as soon as you pick the flowers, you know they will die’.

Tal R combines velvety black sugar lift aquatints with red background plates executed in delicate drypoint lines and soft ground etchings.
The background plates are intentionally inked with slight color variations, resulting in a series of prints which are unique yet closely interrelated.

Blomster uden titel are created for Tal R’s 2021 solo exhibition Home Alone at Ordrupgaard Museum in Copenhagen.

Tal R, born 1967 in Israel, lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.
