Takehito Koganezawa

BORCHs Butik is proud to present graphic works by Japanese artist Takehito Koganezawa.

As in many of Koganezawa’s works, the artist’s individual perspective and daily experiences are reflected. Many of the works presented were inspired by his trips to Copenhagen, where he has been cooperating with Niels Borch Jensen Editions on five series since 2005. From his first trip to Copenhagen he recalls that:
‘I was absorbed by the atmosphere of the city, where people were enjoying the last days of summer. I had seen the sunrise from my little window in the airplane in the sky. Before I reached the printshop, I had already decided I would make something related to the weather.’

Koganezawa’s themes are utterly contemporary and relevant. The influence of Japanese culture and, in particular, its closeness to nature are much in evidence in the works presented. Nature and its phenomena are revealed in full bloom and appear to us as if stolen from a dream-world.
