Group Exhibition | Summer in BORCHs Butik

This summer BORCHs Butik is presenting a group exhibition centred around the topic of pairs, drawing from the print studio’s extensive archive of classic print projects as well as from some of our most recent editions and monotypes.

While Martin Kippenberger’s whimsical couple Eiermann and Eierfrau (1996) were explicitly conceived as a pair, a 2018 etching by Marina Adams shares a striking yet coincidental aesthetic kinship with Arturo Herrera’s 2014 photogravure Four Dancers. Erik A. Frandsen and Per Kirkeby were both working with the same archive of Flora Danica copper plates, but ended with fundamentally different artistic results. The exhibition is an invitation to reflect on individual artworks’ potential to engage in aesthetic dialogue with each other.

The exhibition features etchings and monotypes by Marina Adams, Georg Baselitz, Lise Blomberg, Iñaki Bonillas, Erik A. Frandsen, Arturo Herrera, Martin Kippenberger, Tal R, Matt Saunders, Alexander Tovborg, and John Zurier.
