Documents presents works by artists who, in various ways, employ photography and other camera-based media to investigate or challenge photography’s status as document or evidence — both materially and conceptually.

Photogravure prints by Frida Orupabo and Olafur Eliasson are part of the exhibition. Documents is the third and final exhibition in a trilogy that, through distinct themes — Disappearances (2023) and Memories (2024) — has explored some of the defining characteristics of photography as a medium. Together, the three exhibitions investigate and discuss photography’s contemporary artistic and cultural roles.

Documents is on view at Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen until 9 November 2025
