Event 14.12.19Originally designed as a pop-up exhibition space, BORCHs Butik in Copenhagen has hosted more than 40 solo- and group exhibitions with more than 60 artists since its opening in 2014.

Fiona Tan | Ideas of Utopia
Event 08.06.19 — 18.07.19BORCH Editions is delighted to present two new photogravure projects by Fiona Tan. The exhibition Ideas of Utopia in BORCHs Butik is part of Copenhagen Photo Festival 2019.
A strange glow pervades Fiona Tan’s Shadow Archive, illuminating a well-organized collection of endless archival drawers. The starting point for the series of six black-and-white photogravures originates from Tan’s fascination for the Belgian visionary Paul Otlet (1868–1944), and his ambitious idea to catalogue all human knowledge in order to build world peace.
Stützmappe
Event 26.04.19 — 05.06.19BORCHs Butik is delighted to present a very special series of prints. Originally conceived as a means to support upcoming Berlin artists (hence the portfolio’s name Stützmappe, which translates as Support Portfolio), this series of 13 works is a remarkable testimony to the vibrant atmosphere of the 1990s Berlin art scene.
Marina Adams
Event 23.03.19 — 24.04.19BORCHs Butik is delighted to present the results of Marina Adams’ first collaboration with BORCH Editions. For our first collaboration with American artist Marina Adams, she made two suites of prints: a sequence of nine black and white etchings and a series of nine aquatints.

Alexander Tovborg | amor fati
Event 17.11.18 — 06.02.19For the exhibition ‘amor fati’, Alexander Tovborg has created a series of woodcuts and monotypes depicting the French saint Joan of Arc.
Danh Vō
Event 06.10.18 — 14.11.18Since 2010, photogravure has been a recurring media in Danh Vō’s artistic practice. Photogravure is an intaglio technique and it is one of the oldest and finest ways to transfer a photograph to paper.
Asger Jorn
Event 25.08.18 — 04.10.1852 linocuts by Danish artist Asger Jorn (1914-1973) were recently discovered in the basement of his borther’s house in Silkeborg, Denmark. Nobody knew that they had been preserved. Most of the linocuts were unknown and only a few had been reproduced before.

Ulrik Møller | A World of Photogravure
Event 02.06.17 — 17.08.17Danish artist Ulrik Møller (b. 1962) has created a series of beautiful photogravures in our Copenhagen print studio. The depicted landscapes are quivering with ambience and presence in spite of the quiet and deserted motives.
Preben Hornung
Event 01.04.17 — 18.05.17Preben Hornung (1919–1989), known for his paintings, drawings, and graphic works, played a crucial role in the development of abstraction in 20th century Danish art. A solo exhibition of works from his productive collaboration with Niels Borch Jensen’s Copenhagen print studio will be presented in BORCHs Butik, Copenhagen, from 31 March through 18 May 2017.
Stanley Whitney
Event 25.02.17 — 30.03.17For his first collaboration with BORCH Editions, Stanley Whitney created a number of large-scale coloured monotypes alongside a series of black-and-white etchings. We are excited to present the works in BORCHs Butik in Copenhagen.
Per Kirkeby
Event 14.01.17 — 16.02.17Per Kirkeby, arguably Denmark’s most famous living artist, announced the end of his career as a painter in 2015. His collaboration with our print shop, which dates back as far as 1979, continues nevertheless, and we are excited to present his latest series of etchings alongside recent monotypes. All works were produced by BORCH Editions, Copenhagen.

Martin Kippenberger

The exhibited artworks were all made during Kippenberger’s prodigiously productive stay at Niels Borch Jensen print shop in 1996, shortly before Kippenberger’s premature death the year after.
