Alexander Tovborg | Divine Comedy | ARoS

ARoS presents the largest museum exhibition to date of Alexander Tovborg. In the exhibition Divine Comedy, original prints from Tovborg’s series Inferno and Paradise mark the beginning and the end of the show.
Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy (1320) has been a close companion to Alexander Tovborg’s artistic practice from the very beginning. This late-medieval poem is considered one of the world’s greatest works of literature, describing the afterlife as a journey of the soul toward God. The Comedy is divided into three books—Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso—a structure that has provided the foundation for both Tovborg’s comprehensive print project and the narrative of his exhibition at ARoS.
