Informed by art, architecture, natural sciences and engineering, Tomás Saraceno creates interactive experimental grounds for alternative, sustainable ways of living.
Saraceno’s floating sculptures and interactive installations are architectural proposals for new ways of inhabiting the environment. He has explored the vision of airborne social communities in an ongoing project called Air-Port-City / Cloud City – designs for flying cities made up of habitable, cell-like units that migrate and recombine as freely as clouds. Saraceno frequently displays spiderwebs in his exhibitions – these webs may be seen as nature’s template for Saraceno’s utopian proposals.
Tomás Saraceno, born in 1973 in Tucuman, Argentina, lives and works in Berlin. He has been collaborating with BORCH Editions since 2014.
