Preben Hornung

Preben Hornung was a unique figure in 20th century Danish art.

Finding his motives in the dirty, noisy, densely populated city, Hornung was inspired by everything around him, from steel constructions and railroad tracks to the carcasses displayed in the windows of Copenhagen’s meatpacking district. The shapes, forms and lines of his motives shaped his distinctive painterly expression balancing between figuration and abstraction.

Preben Hornung (1919 – 1989) collaborated with BORCH Editions from 1986 until 1989.
