Martin Kippenberger’s works draw on popular culture, music, politics, history and, not least, his own life.
Kippenberger was an extremely prolific artist, working in painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, collage, and printmaking. While never shying away controversy, his work was rich in political comments, reflections on his own biography as well as on the role of the artist in general.
