Marina Adams, 2018 recipient of the Award of Merit Medal for Painting from the Academy of Arts and Letters, effortlessly translates her signature combinations of shapes and colours from canvas to printing plate.
Adams’ artistic practice as a painter centers around the investigation of the relationships between color and form, often inspired by architectural forms or textile design patterns. For Adams, these shapes and colour combinations constitute a mode of communication which has the potential to cross borders and transcend the boundaries of language and culture.
Marina Adams, born 1960 in Orange, New Jersey, lives and works in New York City and Parma, Italy. She has been collaborating with BORCH Gallery & Editions since 2018.
