Lewis Baltz

One of the most prominent representatives of the New Topographics movement, Lewis Baltz was a key figure in the development of conceptual photography.

His compositional patterns do not only reference the work of other photographers, they also allude to painters and sculptors like Donald Judd, Frank Stella, Jasper Johns or Sol LeWitt. Apart from his work as a photographer, Baltz explored the artistic medium of video as well.

Lewis Baltz (1945 – 2014) collaborated with BORCH Editions in 1996.
