Jakob Kolding’s work centres on questions of representation and power dynamics by highlighting dominant narratives and hierarchies of society.
Working primarily with collage, Kolding combines and reconfigures found materials to create new perspectives on social structures and urban spaces. In his work, hybrid spaces emerge through multiple clues and traces that invite exploration. Kolding’s practice examines how images shape meaning and reflect the social, cultural, and political structures that underpin contemporary life. Spanning collage, text works, posters, sculpture, and installation, his work encourages active engagement with both images and the spaces they inhabit.
Jakob Kolding, born 1971 in Albertslund, Denmark. Lives and works in Copenhagen. He has been collaborating with BORCH Editions since 2026.
