Hannah Heilmann works within a cross-media and performative practice. Her approach is mainly research-based.
Hannah Heilmann’s cross-media art practice points to the dreamy and disturbing elements of life simultaneously. Heilmann challenges traditional exhibition formats, putting the role of the artist and the status of the artwork at stake, with the works often assuming the character of props, costumes or necessitating social interaction.
Her print projects act as a parallel trace to the artist’s performative, installation, and situation-determined work.
Hannah Heilmann, born 1978 in Copenhagen, lives and works in Copenhagen. She has an MA in Art History and is Associate Professor at the Royal Danish Art Academy, Copenhagen.
