Eske Kath creates unreal, synthetic pictorial spaces which defy the laws of geometry.
The post-apocalyptic landscapes on Kath’s canvases are twisted spaces with free-floating houses, plants and trees, often against a psychedelically bright background. They convey an unsettling yet strangely appealing atmosphere, visualizing the fundamental uncertainty that has become a basic human condition in a time of climate change and catastrophes.
Eske Kath, born 1975 in Christiansfeld, Denmark, lives and works in Copenhagen. He has been collaborating with BORCH Editions since 1999.
