Migration, cultural history and identity are key themes in Danh Vo’s conceptual practice.
Vo’s work combines archival fragments with his own and his familie’s biography. He frequently uses found or acquired objects and images that have absorbed layers of meaning through their former ownership, their proximity to specific historical events or their iconic status in general. For his photogravure projects with BORCH Editions he uses photographic material from his family’s archive as well as found and acquired images.
Danh Vo (born 1975 in Bà Rja, Vietnam, lives and works in Berlin and Mexico City. He has been collaborating with BORCH Gallery & Editions since 2010.
