Adam Jeppesen’s vast, desolated landscapes capture both the tranquility and the solitude of his journeys around the globe. They transcend the concepts of space and time and question photography’s capability to testify to one’s individual experience.
Jeppesen’s artistic practice is characterized both by the preoccupation with – and emancipation from – the notion of perfection. Instead of obliberating visual imperfections, Jeppesen investigates their aesthetic value, turning the viewer’s attention to the materiality of photographic objects and inviting them to reflect on the medium of photography itself.
Adam Jeppesen, born 1978 in Kalundborg, Denmark, lives and works in Uruguay. He has been collaborating with BORCH Editions since 2012.
